CMAP will be teaching these students that music is a universal language; because it inspires common human feelings and bridges gaps between cultures that spoken languages cannot. No matter what race, culture, or religion; music also creates a universal community. We believe that CMAP will broadly-implement music/art skills in programs such as the Cincinnati Stars Music Ensemble and will have the potential to transform the lives of many struggling youths in Over the Rhine, and other underserved communities and to those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, and disable.
The Cincinnati Music and Arts Program has partnered with Let Every Vessel Enjoy Life’ (L.E.V.E.L.) a non-profit organization whose goal is to assist as many students as possible to go on one of Cincinnati’s Black College Tours. In addition, what L.E.V.E.L.’s goal has been from the beginning and still remains is to be a help to those underprivileged students who otherwise would be unable to go on the tour without financial assistance. L.E.V.E.L. is touching the mind, the heart, and the senses.
