The Purpose of the Cincinnati Music and Arts Program is to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement through performance, service and volunteering. The Cincinnati Music and Arts Program is designed to involve school-age children 5-18yrs in community-based music programs that provide direct and demonstrable educational experiences in music. CMAP has launched the Cincinnati Stars Music Ensemble to provide youth with a foundation in all instrumental areas introducing many to what we hope to be a life-long interest in music and art education. Focusing on the Over-the- Rhine area, the West End, and the Cincinnati area at large; such activities is a great way to minimize juvenile crime while refocusing energies in creative outlets.
Our Mission: creating a safe haven for disadvantage children through music and the arts.
Bringing the youths Together Through Music, the Cincinnati Music and Arts Program will be able to expand the use of music and art as a teaching strategy to increase students’ motivation to learn, community problem solving skills, and readiness for careers and post-secondary education; and engaging young people in music-art activities that address community needs in order to build healthier communities.
